This is an exploratory essential oil blend investigating the traditionally known Calming benefits of various essential oils known for heart strengthening, also including two elements known to help naturally control cholesterol (Bergamot & Arjuna).

Designed to Reduce Stress, Muscle Spasms, Increase Drainage, Relax the Heart, Reduce Inflammation, Relieve Angina pains, and Improve Circulation.

Uplifting vasodilators lower blood pressure while cleansing & strengthening the heart, arteries and veins. The blend helps to relieve fatigue and stress, reduce inflammation, increase cranial & heart circulation and relieve headaches and excess worrying. Ingredients:

• Frankincense, Sandalwood, Rose & Ylang Ylang relax the muscles, dilate arteries, and strengthen the vein walls.
• Bergamot is a natural antidepressant & helps to lower cholesterol.
• Angelica Root (Angelica archangelica) brings in healing energies to all parts of the body, and is traditionally thought to strengthen arteries, veins and heart.
• Arjuna Liquid Extract is an Ayurvedic treatment for all heart conditions, including congenital heart failure. Arjuna is a 60-70 foot tree grown in India, with harvesting done by scraping the barki.
• Sensual, relaxing Ylang Ylang relieves worries & stimulates endorphins.  
• Relaxants Marjoram and Ylang Ylang.

Cardiac Protection blend is also included as an element in this Heart Arrhythmia blend due to its anti-inflammatory, diuretic & balancing effects: It relieves edema and helps to modulate the delicate sodium/potassium/calcium balance by reducing aldosterone and supporting the adrenals. Cardiac Protection contains

• oils with water energy, which help to drain excess fluid throughout the body;
• vasorelaxant oils Cassia, Rosewood and other linalools and cineols
• menthols including Peppermint,  which affect calcium dynamics;
• esters which protect against cardiovascular disease;
• citruses including Grapefruit, Petitgrain and Bitter Orange; and ketones including Caraway, both of which are antispasmodic, assisting and protecting smooth muscles in the heart.

Arjuna (Terminalia Arjuna) has been used by Ayurvedic doctors for many centuries as a very effective tool for the treatment of heart diseases, and also to help balance cholesterol. (Freston, 2021). Arjuna contains a large amount of elogin and arjunic acids, as well as b – sitosterol. Arjuna bark is a great heart & liver tonic, normalizes the heart rate & blood pressure. It is used for ischemic heart pain, has a cardioprotective effect, and is used in the treatment of hypertension. Arjuna also helps to restore the body’s anti-cholesterol system. Clinical studies have shown that Arjuna is an effective treatment in 40% of cases of coronary heart disease, heart failure, & heart valve abnormalities. In 44% of cases, Arjuna also helped with chronic bronchitis that accompanied heart disease. We wanted to include Arjuna in our Heart Arrhythmia blend, but it is not yet readily available as an essential oil, so we chose Arjuna liquid extract, which is compatible with and easily absorbs into our essential oil combination.

Uses: May apply up to 10 drops, diluted or undiluted, around heart, neck, back of neck, shoulders, behind ears, hairline, bellybutton, bottoms of feet. May also use a few drops in carrier oil for bath or general massage.

Energetically, the blend clears blockages in the solar plexus chakra, moving along the nadis in the chest and lungs, and clearing emotional blockages in the chest on a cellular level.
