Current test-tube research (March 30, 2020) indicates that Eucalyptol (1,8 cineole) from Eucalyptus essential oil molecularly docks with Mpro protein of coated viruses, suppressing their growth. Eucalyptus polybractea oil, when actively diffused with a nebulizer for fifteen seconds, cleared all airborne Influenza A Virus at 15 minutes post nebulizer treatment (Usachev et al 2013).
